The Mass Spectrometry industry is a diverse and growing industry, crucial for supplying complex and high precision analytical instrumentation to a range of scientific sectors performing bespoke analysis for a wide variety of samples and applications.
Our client is a leading manufacturer of Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometry (IRMS), and associated sample preparation systems, who provide analytical solutions for clients all over the world. They are currently seeking an Engineer or Scientist, with a strong interest scientific instrumentation to fulfil the role of Systems Engineer within their friendly and close-knit team.
In this diverse role you will test, install and service stable isotope ratio mass spectrometers and their associated sample preparation devices for international laboratory clients. Following an initial period of training, you will divide your time been the manufacturing facility in Cheshire and travel internationally (approx. 50% of your time, i.e. 1 week at company HQ then 1 week at customer site).
You will collaborate closely with a broad range of customers from various industries, such as geochemistry, food & environmental, providing training and post installation support.
Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to work alongside colleagues across business disciplines and forge partnerships with university research groups, to contribute towards ongoing instrument development; both in terms of technological advancement and developing novel applications.
