Our client is a global industrial company, designing solutions and manufacturing products for a range of industries worldwide. One of their sites in the North of France is producing aerosols lines for different applications (such as Biocides and Cosmetics) and another one in Germany produces medical devices (disinfection wipes).

In order to comply with regulation changes, they are currently looking for an experienced Regulations Lead to join their team either in the North of France or in the South of Belgium to take the lead on operational projects run at European level. Working as part of a mutli-disciplinary team of scientists, you will be responsible for the regulatory approvals, file compilations, documentation submissions and Authority enquiries responses across the whole portfolio of new and existing products and its testing. You will ascertain that products and packaging are in accordance with the rules and regulations of the appropriate market and countries.

The Regulatory Lead will also work cross functionally with the rest of the technical team (Marketing, Product Management, Sourcing and Production). You will act as a compliance lead for New Product Development, existing products, Technology Road Map Design and VA/VE, with a mindset of continuous improvement and corporate collaboration, managing systems and internal & external resources for delivering product compliance.

Main responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of regulatory coordinators to achieve global “best in class” status for industrial product support, ensuring ownership and accountability for managing systems and resources for product compliance. This includes, compiling and maintaining SDS (Safety Data Sheets) and other regulatory data for each business unit, and harmonizing software used across different business units for efficiency and consistency.
  • Stay abreast of regulatory changes and industry challenges, with a focus on REACH, CLP, and dangerous substances. Manage the company compliance risk registers for the company to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • In close collaboration with the Head of Technical, initiate and lead product compliance update projects, such as REACH and EU regulation changes. Ensure the delivery of regulatory documentation, manage the ongoing projects, and enhance existing products. Track and report on progress across key projects while collaborating with various teams.
  • Lead the technical compliance contribution to strategic plans for new product development (NPD) and customer-backed innovations (CBI). Identify strengths, opportunities, threats, and weaknesses, and integrate compliance insights into technical roadmaps and project planning.
  • Create a motivating and engaging work environment by implementing tailored personal development plans, conducting regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and coaching. Ensure that both direct and indirect report teams are aligned with company goals and standards.

This role will suit someone with previous regulatory experience looking for a Senior position within a growing organisation. In order to succeed, you must have worked on SDS generation software and REACH experience in highly regulated environments (biocides, greases, medical devices, cosmetics, aerospace).

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, motivated and genuinely interested in regulations to take on this exciting position. You will also possess strong spoken and written French & English languages skills.
