Our client is a growing technology company aiming to improve people’s lives by developing leading-edge life science instrumentation and associated products that are used worldwide from research universities to large pharmaceutical companies.

With dual headquarters in the USA and France, they design, develop and manufacture a range of laboratory instruments from media and columns to consumables, accessories and chromatography & mass spectrometry systems.

Due to expansion, they are currently looking for an accomplished & motivated VP of commercial operations to be based in France and be responsible for the company’s commercial strategy for EMEA & the UK.

Leveraging your expertise in market access, commercial analytics and formulation of sales strategies, you will develop and implement a clearly defined sales strategy; set sales targets in line with the company’s economic profitability objectives; develop, foster, and maintain existing and/or new markets, target customers and acquire new prospects and forecast sales volumes. You will hold direct responsibility for the EMEA/Sales Teams and EU-based Product Management.

In order to do so, you will have various responsibilities:

  • Develop & Implement Sales Strategy: define a clear and precise sales action plan
  • Manage Product Management Teams for Life Science Tools & Consumables: overseeing the entire product lifecycle, ensuring the alignment of product offerings with market needs and customer expectations, providing guidance and support during complex product launches and strategic decision-making processes
  • Manage Sales Teams: Lead, motivate and unite team members around a common sales strategy, organise & coordinate commercial activities, evaluate employees performances and support their development.
  • Achieve Sales Targets & Monitor/Analyse Sales Performance: ensuring individual and collective objectives are met, realise sales, market share and business funnel development objectives, reporting to the CEO and optimize sales action plans if required
  • Working in a Matrix organization within Global Commercial Teams: balancing multiple reporting lines and collaborating across various functions and geographies, fostering a collaborative environment, building strong relationships and ensuring global commercial initiatives are executed seamlessly and deliver optimal results

The ideal candidate will possess a relevant degree (Analytical Chemistry, Life Sciences, or closely related) and a solid background in life science instrumentation (chromatography and mass spectrometry) and consumables. To be successful, you will bring over 10 years’ experience of selling, marketing and product management, leading strategies, business planning, marketing and business development.

You also possess excellent mastery of sales techniques, marketing tools & methodologies along with a solid knowledge of the market and companies in the sector.

You must be willing to travel 50% of your time and regularly attend the headquarters in central France (2-3 days per week on average). Fluency in both French and English is mandatory.
